2020年9月25日(金)、三菱UFJリサーチ＆コンサルティング株式会社様に、社内の学会活動として企画された研修をオンライン形式で開催いたしました。
今回は社員有志の活動の研修とのことで、当財団で提供している『Google Earth Engine を用いたリモートセンシング講座』をベースに、Google EarthなどGoogle社の提供する地理情報サービスの紹介からリモートセンシングの基礎知識に関する講義、そしてGoogle Earth Engine Code Editorを用いた実習までを盛り込んで、ご要望に即したオンデマンドの構成で開催いたしました。当日は全国から様々な部署の方がリモートでご参加くださいました。
受講された社員の方からは、「リモートセンシングの原理と、プログラミング、可視化の工夫など多岐にわたる内容を短時間で説明いただけて、よく理解できました。」「大変濃い内容で、普通にはこの時間では収まりきらない状況だったと思いますが、実務家の臨機応変な対応で、大変満足度の高い内容だった。」「知らないGoogleのサービスやgoogle earth engineについて取っ掛かりをつかむことができて非常に有意義な研修となりました。」と、嬉しいご感想をいただきました。

Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., Ltd. held an on-demand online training session at an internal conference
On Friday, September 25, 2020, RESTEC held an Online training session planned as an internal conference activity for Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., Ltd.
The training module was on “Remote Sensing with Google Earth Engine” course where details of the geographic information services provided by Google, such as Google Earth, as well as a lecture on the basic knowledge of remote sensing was explained. RESTEC also included hands-on practice with Google Earth Engine Code Editor, and held this session in an on-demand format to meet the needs of the attendees. On the day, people from various departments of Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., country-wide, participated through the online platform.
RESTEC also collected feedback from trainees. One of the employees who participated in the training mentioned that he was able to understand the principles of remote sensing, programming, visualization, and other wide-ranging content in a very short time. In his words, “The content was very deep, and I don’t think we would have been able to cover it fully, but it was very satisfying with the flexible response of the practitioners.” “It was a very meaningful training for me to get a clue about Google’s services and the google earth engine, which I didn’t know about.”
